Small Ways to Move More in Everyday Life

Keeping active with a hectic lifestyle can be challenging but there are small every day changes we can make to help us move more!

Here are 10 ways to move more during everyday life, without having to block more time out of your busy schedule!

You may have heard this one thousands of times, but it’s one of the best tips for a reason. Taking the stairs instead of the life increases your heart rate, helps with balance, and improves lower-extremity strength. If you’re feeling saucy and have a few minutes, you can even do some heel raises off the edge of a step for calf strength, or take the stairs two at a time.

When you’re walking around the house, try walking lunges. Not only will this add to your daily exercise ring it can get that heart rate going.

Why not consider parking further from the entrance of wherever you’re going. Adding in a few minutes of walking time here and there adds up over time and can increase your daily step count.

4. try a standing desk

With a lot of us working from home we can struggle to get that step count high. We suggest switching to a standing desk and adding a foldable treadmill underneath. You'll be surprised how much you can burn while working!

Swap out your office chair for a stability ball. This can help with back pain and help improve posture, and while sitting on the ball, you can do some gentle mobility stretches for your neck, pelvis, and spine.
